COMPANY HISTORY
A long established business
J Lister Electrical was established in 1973 by John and Judy Lister. In 2020 it became part of the Northern Bear group of companies.
Due to continuous improvements to our services and support from valued customers, we have benefited from steady growth and expansion and now employ over 30 people.
We are committed to maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety procedures and all our operatives have been carefully selected and trained to meet these standards. They are all full time employees and are not self employed.
Although our company is based in York, we operate in a large geographical area. Our services are offered for either commercial or industrial installations. All work carried out by us is in accordance with 18th Edition I.E.E. wiring regulations (BS7671), CDM regulations, Health & Safety at work act, and we will also adhere to any specific client requirements. Installation work is tested and certified using N.I.C.E.I.C. endorsed software and certificates.
All our operatives wear matching uniforms, comprising workwear bearing the company logo. The electricians assess the risks of small minor works and should it prove necessary, risk assessment forms, method statements and COSHH forms are submitted. Risk assessments are always carried out prior to work commencement on larger contracts by a senior member of staff.
We are members of the Safe Contractor Scheme, CHAS, NICEIC, Constructionline, Safe Contractor & Fire Industry Association.
